Laid Back
Acrylic on Watercolor Paper
19" x 27", framed 28" x 36" ANTONIO PENA from Cuba
He wanted to get away from Castro and Cuba. He came to the U.S. nineteen years ago.
He seemed to have a humorous, laid back approach to life. His circumstances didn't matter much as long as he wasn't in Cuba.
So I painted Antonio in this relaxed position, looking over his shoulder between a plywood boarded-up door and a brick wall.
